Kirstine Fryd is a documentary photographer and communications professional based in Denmark. She holds an MA in Documentary Photography from London College of Communication and an MA in Journalism and Visual Anthropology from Concordia and Roskilde University.

Apart from commissioned work, Kirstine is engaged in long-term projects, with a special interest in portraiture. Since the onset of the war in Ukraine, she has been documenting the lives of refugees in Denmark, tracing the quiet narratives of displacement and the enduring civilian cost of war. Her work examines how conflict extends far beyond the battlefield, reshaping identities, memories, and the sense of belonging. At the heart of her practice is an exploration of the female human landscape and the capacity of photographic storytelling—seen from a distinctly female perspective—to advocate, reveal, and give form to resilience and dignity amid vulnerability.
